    Description

You are getting the exact items pictured. Please look closely at the picture/pictures for your own opinion. Any damage not pictured will be described.
The family I got this from said Jay was extremely proud of his retirement from Montgomery Ward and loved the watch, but he only wore if daily for few months. According to them he changed the batteries yearly for a couple of years before finally removing them for good and putting it in the safe.
The family said he hated having to push a button to tell what time it was.
I have included several closeup pictures for your viewing pleasure and am always happy to answer questions if I know the answers.
The batteries were removed many years ago and the watch was kept in the original box. There is no manual available.
I put fresh batteries in it and it has a brilliant look and vibrant red colors.
This works perfectly and keeps accurate time and date.
I have not cleaned or polished any part of this, simply tried to remove my fingerprints before taking pictures.
The crystal has none of the usual chipping commonly seen and is nearly scratch free according to my old eyes and a loop. A couple TINY imperfections upon close examination.
The original POLARA band is inscribed as pictured and works as intended
.  It is a KESTENMADE STAINLESS STEEL and also marked 1/20 10K G.F. TRIM.  The inscription could probably be polished out, but it is great provenance to the history.  This is guaranteed to be a "one owner" and I am simply the caretaker until you own it.
There are a couple tiny dings where you push the inset button to change time/date.  The family said dad hated this feature and apparently was not careful.  I have pictured this carefully.
The original plastic display box is great with a few minor scratches.  It opens and closed properly and has a great 1970s look.
This is a great piece of Wittnauer history and Montgomery Ward stores memorabilia.
Keep it or wear it as is or spend a few dollars to have a professional jeweler clean/polish it and it will be a great addition to any collection.
