    Description

    Up for bid is this
1919 Argentina High Relief Commemorative Bronze Medal. It weighs approximately 2 1/2 oz. and is 2" in diameter.
Apparently, this gorgeous medal was created in honor of the ground-breaking of a new school in Santa Fe, Argentina on December 27, 1919. Translated into English from the reverse of the medal: Placement of the Fundamental Stone of the Normal School of Santa Fe.
    Dr.
    Hipólito Irigoyen
    (born
Juan Hipólito del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Yrigoyen) (July 12, 1852 – July 3, 1933)
    was a
two-time President of Argentina, serving his first term from
1916 to 1922 and his second from 1928 to 1930, making him the Grover Cleveland of Argentina :)
    José S. Salinas was the
Minister of Justice and Public Education.
The medal is a stunning tribute to the Normal School of Santa Fe! Thank you for your consideration!!
