This primitive rocking ink blotter piece has an original ink stained felt square still attached to the bottom and dates back to the 1920’s, the early times of pens & writing instruments other then pencil …
While writing sometimes ink would puddle up on the paper and to keep the paper dry this green pooch would come in and with a quick rock back and forth would soak up the ink puddle, the ink absorbs into a felt square that is secured to the bottom….

This blotter was made by pouring liquid glass into a mold, leaving a thin line of glass on the blotter that would then have to be sanded smooth.
This mark is visible on the piece.
Antique jade green glass ink blotter is in great shape, especially considering it is at least 100 years old…
