Vintage Khmher Bird Figurine .900 Silver Ceremonial Sterling Betel Box. Condition is used however compared to others i have seen for sale ( 90+ year old item, this one seems to be in great shape for its age. Its truly STUNNING , rich with history and worth much much more than the price im selling it for .
This is an Ornamental Betel Box used in weddings and other ceremonial activites by the Khmer people of Cambodia. The box ( bird) opens and that is where they had the concoction of herbs and seeds that was also a mild narcotic commonly used in weddings . This is a magnificent item worthy of being in a museum of history.
This Item is .900 silver,  sterling is ,925 silver. .900 silver was more commonly used in Asia.
