Description

Up for auction is an excellent down home made General's frock coat and vest for a General officer of the Confederacy. Made of lined wool and golden buttons it is the opposite of the normal General outspoken uniform.Common work uniform for a General who got into the battle and mixed it up with the Union forces. A get uniform frock coat and vest for the reenactor who is more action than words/ Or the collector who wants something to set his collection apart form his other collectors .
Coat is marked a size 46 but really is closer to a 48 so I called it a large 46. Sleeve length is 26". The length of the coat is 47" from the back of the collar to the bottom hem. The vest is a 46 also and has some rust staining on the back from the adjustment buckle and has 7 small N.C. buttons for closing and opening.
The coat has 9 large CSA buttons in a double breasted configuration and the same buttons on the cuff, three each cuff.
