Description
Ye Olden Days sterling silver box with enameled bawdy tavern scene. Made by William B. Durgin Co. in Concord, New Hampshire, ca 1890. Rectangular with straight sides. Applied wreaths (vacant) and flaming torches and cornucopia mounted to regal crown. Rims reeded. Cover hinged. On cover top, a groping toper wraps his arm around a merry wench. Shimmering iridescence shows off man?s carelessly discarded cloak and woman's loosely laced bodice. Fully marked including maker's and retailer's (JC Grogan) stamps.Dimensions: H 2 3/4 x W 6 1/8 x D 4 1/2 in. Gross weight: 22 troy ounces. #BU370
