    Description

Fishing Lure Company For Sale – Includes All Tooling, Supplies, and Finished Lures
You're purchasing tooling, equipment, and inventory of a fishing lure manufacturing company, not currently in business.  The company is known as Jake's Bait and the lures were available in 3 standard sizes.  The largest lures are made of cast-lead, the smaller two stamped steel.  At one time there was also a 'fly-size' lure produced in brass.  I have some but not all of the tooling necessary to make the fly-size lure.
    Included with the purchase:
    ñ
More than 3000 finished lures in boxes
    ñ
8-Ton Punch Press for stamping/forming steel lures
    ñ
Forming and stamping dies for two sizes steel lures
    ñ
    Molds for making lead lures
    ñ
Various hand tools for installation of eyelets
    ñ
A quantity of leather for lure tails
    ñ
A press for forming the leather tails
    ñ
Thousands of brass eyelets, screws, and hooks of various sizes
    ñ
    Misc other related equipment
THE BUY-IT-NOW PRICE IS FAR BELOW THE VALUE OF THE FINISHED LURES ALONE!!
For the stamped lures, the included 8-ton press is more than sufficient to perform the stamping/forming process.  Alternately, you could farm the stamping out to a local stamping shop.
For the cast lures, there are single hand-molds included, along with a multiple-cavity spin mold.  The spin mold is the way to go for production - again, a local shop should be able to use the spin mold to produce them for you, or you could invest in spin-molding equipment.
Jake's Bait lures were produced starting in the late 1920's in the Cincinnati, OH area.  These lures were sold in the multi-state region surrounding Cincinnati and were famous for the success they had in catching fish.
The business has been bought and sold three times.  The previous owner operated the company successfully for a number of years, and then retired the business in the early 1980's due to other business interests.  He kept it in storage for 30 years, always planning on producing these lures again.
This is where I come in.  I found out about the company and acquired the fishing lure line.  Along with all the equipment and supplies, there was a large number of finished lures included with the sale.  I’ve been selling the lures for years.  There are still thousands of finished lures left in inventory.
Since I acquired a large quantity of these lures on buying the company, I haven’t had to make any new lures.  With that in mind, the newest lure I have in inventory is at least 40 years old making them all vintage lures.
I’m getting older and it’s time to start simplifying my life and getting rid of some of my product lines such as this fishing lure company.
The value of just the lures could easily cover your investment.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to revive this once-famous line of fishing lures.
We would encourage you to come by and see everything before bidding if you’d like.
Delivery:  The only way this could be shipped is by freight - it would require two skids.  The 8-ton press is heavy (obviously it doesn’t weigh eight tons – that’s the pressure it exerts forming the metal.  I estimate it weighs
    400 or 500 lbs
).  It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange shipping details.  We can package everything up on our end to help with shipping.  Arrangements could also be made for local pickup (Indianapolis, IN).
We will NOT accept or consider offers from outside of the continental USA.   I'll be happy to share more pictures, or answer any questions, feel free to contact me.
