Good quality 1970s solid silver cigarette/ cigar box of rectangular form with slightly domed hinged lid and thumb piece
Made by renowned silversmith's Mappin & Webb Ltd
Engraved inscription dated 1971-72
lid has crisp engine turned decoration
Cedar wood interior lining
Base underside has black plastic lining.
Fully hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid silver, date letter (rubbed unidentifiable) and the makers mark MN & WN Mappin & Webb Ltd.
Condition -
In excellent condition, just rubbing to hallmarks
