This watch used to be a Zenith pocket watch. Original case was recycled, we restored the original Zenith movement and placed it in a modern case. It is a very well preserved movement. We were also very lucky with this movement because the original dial was in such a perfectly preserved condition, we were able to keep it with the movement. In this case, you get both, original Zenith Dial and original Zenith Movement.
We did very few cleaning and restoration for the movement. It was initially in perfect condition. You can see this clearly from provided photos. The process this watch went through is called 'marriage' (hence the term, marriage watch). This wristwatch was made on a base of original Swiss Zenith pocket watch movement and original Zenith dial. This pocket watch mechanism was modified into a wristwatch and placed in made to fit modern wrist watch movement case. You are looking at a professionally made marriage wrist watch product.

Side note:
Dear customers, in many instances I am asked to describe how we create our marriage watches. I will try to be brief but at the same time I will try not to miss any important detail in the following text:
In most cases, we do the following, we find vintage, antique Omega movements on eBay (or other marketplaces) in any condition. Generally, they are sold with or without a dial in various condition from completely trashed, to close to very good vintage condition. Trashed movements are used as donors. In most cases, those movements are nonworking. We rarely get watches to restore with original pocket watch cases. Pocket watch cases are absent because in many instances original pocket watch cases are made of precious metals and are being recycled (melted).
Obtained movements are disassembled completely, cleaned, restored and one of our team members (we have a team of several individuals), a licensed horologist puts all pieces together and tries to make this assembled movement work. In many cases, we have to use so-called donors. Donor is a similar (or sometimes the very same) movement which parts can be used with the movement we try to put to life. If no donor is available and the missing (destroyed) part can be custom made, we order it to be made in Switzerland and shipped to us. Otherwise this movement becomes a donor itself. In instances when we have all necessary parts, upon full assembly, movement is run through vigorous tests. Sometimes these tests last for months. During testing phase, restored movement is adjusted, custom calibrated. Once our horologist is confident that movement is fully operational, other team members either restore the original dial (very rare case, since original dials generally come in very poor condition and therefore recycled) or creates a new dial.
After new dial is done (or original dial is in acceptable for re-sale condition), we try to make this restored movement to fit into one of the standard modern-made wristwatch cases. We, generally, have 4 type of cases:
1. manufactured and not laser (or hand) engraved (basic);
2.
manufactured and laser (or hand) engraved on one side (for medium priced models);
3.
manufactured and laser (or hand) engraved on both sides (only for the most expensive models);
4. Cases made and welded from scratch. Handcrafted cases. (when movement and dial do not fit into a standard case).
Cases are prepared ahead of time, they are decorated (engraved) by hand by side employed engraving specialist with over 30 years of experience. In most cases these cases are also gold plated to give them 'rich' look. Once movement is placed in a new case, it is a testing phase where for almost 1-3 months our testing guy runs a new wristwatch through a new set of tests. If a watch fails any of these tests it is either calibrated or-and disassembled again and the horologist gives it another look. Basically, these are the steps each one of our watches goes through before it hits the sale floor.
Since the creation of each one of our watches involves several individuals, many hours of labor, it adds up to the price of each one of our marriage products. To some, it might look astronomical, but we do price all our watches carefully and try not to price them above market value for each individual movement.
