This Steering Damper is new and will fit the V.W. Type 1 Beetle models from 1960 to 1979. Karmann Ghia from 1960 to 1974. The Thing from 1973 to 1974.
The steering damper is a direct replacement for your leaky or worn out damper that no longer operates properly.  It is common for steering dampers (also known as dampeners) to leak the hydraulic fluid out, causing it to fail.
This is a good quality replacement.
VW Standard Beetle models from 1960 to 1979.
VW Karmann Ghia models from 1960 to 1974
VW Thing models 1973 & 1974
