Description
Up for auction to U.S. customers only is an old tripod made by Thalhammer (not pictured is a logo inscribed on the metal of a man holding a hammer aloft). It is made of wood and metal and I believe it was used for cameras -- markings are for kino pano tilt and model B. Fully open the legs are 58" long so the tripod stands about 5' tall and is 31" when closed. Overall it seems in good condition and all the moveable parts seem to operate and lock fine. One of the rubber pads on the feet is missing. I can't be sure about the top mount with the handle -- there is an open cup, no screw to attach old cameras I've seen, but perhaps it was designed for a camera that had a different type of mount. Obviously I'm no expert on this so if someone out there knows if the mount is correct, let me know and I'll clear up the listing. As the pictures show, the top mount can be removed and there is a rod and screw to mount a standard camera (I attached an old Kodak bellows camera and it worked fine). Overall a nice piece for the camera buff.I'm also listing another vintage photography item tonight -- a Bell & Howell Auto Master movie camera. Check it out and perhaps save on shipping.
NOTE: I have found that the Ebay shipping calculator is not always reliable so please use the shipping cost as a guide only. Do not pay for the item until I send you an invoice with correct shipping cost. Sorry, but I have ended up losing money on shipping charges. I also reduce shipping cost if I can find a cheaper shipper.
I try very hard to satisfy all my customers, and I think my feedback shows it. In order to avoid unpleasant surprises, please email me with questions before the auction ends. Some buyers have requested refunds because they thought they were getting something other than what was described and pictured. I'll answer all questions and even send extra pictures, but if you don't ask in advance then you can't expect me to give you a refund because you made some assumptions about the item. I'm not an expert on most of the things I sell, nor a mind reader, so I'd like to clear up questions as much as you would.
